I have been using a CPAP for 8 years and am very comfortable with it and would hate to spend a night without it. I am wondering if anyone else has experienced dry eyes. When I wake up in the morning my eyes are matted and crusty. I wonder if the pressure from the machine is keeping my tears from going down my throat and causing them to be blown out my tear ducts. Just my theory?

I started using a nasal pillow but changed to a full face mask since the pressure would blow my mouth open and the machine would ramp up and blow air in my nostrils and irritate them. Changing to the full face mask has completely eliminated that problem but I started having dry eyes when I changed. Still have dry mouth (who doesn't) and keep water by the bed.

Just wondering if anyone else has problems with their eyes.

My mask does not leak, but the exhaust blows back on me. I have to make sure that my pillow and blanket are not blowing the exhaust air back at me because it hits on of my eyes. Crusty eyes may not be just dry eyes though, so perhaps you should check with your doctor.

I have talked to my doctor and he more or less brushed it off. It's not a big problem but it did not happen until I started using a full face mask. I sleep on my back with my face uncovered so I don't think it's an exhaust blow back issue. Thanks for your feed back.
