I know I have sleep apnea. I did a test when I was younger - they confirmed it; but I never followed up. I was just not motivated with my health.

My sister also has it but was too depressed to get anything looked at. She passed away last year due to cardiac death in her sleep.

This has really shaked me as I have a lot if the same issues she has medically speaking. She was only 34.

Now I'm 26 - with a partner who can't sleep due to my snoring, and a concerned family who thinks my death may be imminent.

I live in Florida and can't access free medical; and we simply don't make enough to pay cash through sleep apnea tests and treatments. It's always been like this though, I may be shortsighted.

Any help with where to start is appreciated.

First of all, you need to get a proper diagnosis from a professional. There are at home sleep studies which are much more inexpensive that an in hospital one, and that will at least confirm the diagnosis. As a short term solution, you can go on line to get a cheap oral appliance which will stop your snoring. It's not the final answer but it's a step in the right direction. If you tolerate oral appliances and the snoring stops I would recommend seeing a sleep dentist who can do the in home test and fit you with a professional custom made appliance.
