In desperate need of relief, any experience in medication to offset sleep apnea?

I read up about modafinil and I heard this is commonly used to treat the effects of sleep apnea. I know you need a prescription so I was thinking of going to talk to my doctor about it. My friend told me about an alternative called modalert and I was wondering if anyone had any experience?

I'm at the point where I'm unable to function and can barely drive long distances without extreme fatigue. I wake up with a super high heart rate, sore throat and difficulty breathing.

The place I was going to get another sleep study done at is currently closed. I need some sort of relief until I can get a cpap/bpap and into an actual sleep facility. I've used so much caffeine to keep me awake that I'm almost immune to it now. It's miserable.

so my question is, anyone have experience with the otc stuff like modalert and the like on counteracting their fatigue? I've tried B12, D, all of that.

It'd be better to fix the sleep issues. Not tried many otc meds for fatigue but should be plenty of info about effects/side-effects online. Duramine has some of the effects you want but can impact badly on relationships. Dexamphetamine is harder to get but probably more benign. Ring your local pharmacist?

Just need a medical referral, and the test is done overnight at home. The Phillips Alice NightOne was the system I was given to do my at home sleep study. It does not give you a full sleep study report, but it does cover the basics of obstructive apnea, and central apnea.

With a prescription Auto CPAP machines can be bought and delivered overnight from a number of suppliers. However, it is best to do a trial of one before you buy.
