I've used a CPAP for over 20 yrs. At first, it was difficult to find a mask that worked well. Finally, I found the Resperonics Comfort fusion which has worked well for quite some time. A couple years ago, this model was discontinued. I'm still able to buy the cushion insert online but my insurance (Medicare suppliment) won't pay for it. I've tried multiple different style masks from a durable equipment supplier but they just don't work.
Medicare will pay for complete new mask and headgear ever few months. I've not found one that will work well. The cost for complete mask is 10 times more than the cushion inserts I can buy online, but apparently Medicare prefers to throw my tax payer money down a rat hole instead of a solution that costs much less.
I like that mask too. If medicare is paying for masks at no cost to you I would continue getting them to keep on your search for another mask that works well for you.
