Hello everyone, my name is Jeff and i'm new here, I'm 50 and overweight and have been a long time sleep apnea sufferer, over the last year I have noticed that somehow my nose gets obstructed, meaning that it feels like a flap of skin in my throat is blocking any intake of air through my nose, it awakens me from sleep and even once awake it is still blocked until I blow air out of my nose then all of a sudden I can breathe in through it again, I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this?

You say you are a long time sleep apnea sufferer. Have you been diagnosed with sleep apnea, and are you using a CPAP or APAP to control it?

I have a Cpap machine, I have only had it a few months and i'm having a hard time getting used to it, I have a full face mask at the moment, but I just ordered a Nasal mask today, i'm hoping that it will allow me to wear it more because the full mask makes me feel like i'm sufficating

How effective is the treatment for you? Are you getting low AHI numbers? I'm just wondering if you may be still having some residual apnea events.

But the thing that I found odd is when my nose gets closed off by some obstruction and I wake up, i'm still able to breathe out of my mouth just my nose is sealed shut, but once i force air to come out of it all of a sudden I can breathe out of it again
