Hello,

I haven't noticed a large difference since using my CPAP, so I took a break. I've decided to give it another shot, and am wondering if maybe there's something I'm doing wrong. I've attached my Oscar, please and thank you for the help!

Your results seem pretty standard. Some comments:

You are having a few central apnea events but they do not seem to be happening when the pressure is higher. Your pressure setting seem ok. There may be a small benefit in reduced hypopnea events by increasing EPR from 2 cm to 3 cm. You will only know by trying it. It is not clear if you are using the Ramp set to Auto. It may improve your going to sleep experience. I would use a Ramp Start Pressure of 8 cm.

What issues are you having that are not encouraging more use of the CPAP?

I don't sleep well usually without medication, and I don't even take Trazodone anymore because it makes me too groggy during the day.

I wake up often with a dry nose and mouth if I'm lucky enough to fall asleep at all.

I was hoping that the machine would help reduce my depression symptoms, but it hasn't helped with that.

What would reducing the EPR from 2 to 3 cm actually do?

EPR stands for Expiry Pressure Relief, or a pressure reduction each time you exhale. It can make breathing easier. For example if your pressure is 8 cm and EPR is set to 3 cm, then on inhale you get 8 cm of pressure and on exhale it is 5 cm. My experience is that EPR can also reduce the number of hypopnea events.

What type of mask do you use? If it is a nasal mask and you open your mouth during sleep that can cause a dry mouth.
