You are right that they are essentially neutral.

I don't know how they perform their job but I can't help but wonder how they test the medical conditions of the user including their level of competence and awareness or the nature of weather events in every location or the state of the electrical grid that supplies the premises or the function of the CPAP under diverse conditions and circumstances in combination with so many different settings and options then there are a multitude of masks and the variations of the end product when they are contracted out to different manufacturers and the varying aptitudes of the users in maintaining and adjusting those masks then put it all together and you have thousands of variables and that does not include the potential for users to adapt, tamper with, or compromise the functionality of the process.

I'd love to see the FDA factor in mouth taping.

In my view testing each component does not guarantee that the composite package is safe.

The references to the New Zealand case are totally irrelevant they don't prove anything either way.

It's still illegal here although the powers that be, who are based in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) saw fit to legalize it in just one state.

I think that eventually, they will extend that freedom elsewhere although I wonder about the effect on road users.

I've never used recreational drugs and am wary of things they could trigger but, in all likelihood, cannabis would help me sleep, and any relaxation should be compensated for by the CPAP

The airline that I referred to above and in another thread Jetstar Policy refunded the charge that they applied for my CPAP and have since reverted to allowing CPAPs to be carried onto their planes without any charges.

Before I did all that waffling above I looked at Google images of peoples skulls and it seems to me that many humans have significant dents and trenches across their skulls that presumably follow the lines where the original skull plates were grown and welded together.

I think it is likely that the CPAP mask designers studied skull shapes to determine where best to place the straps to gain the most stability and by so doing they have accentuated the previously unnoticed topography.

As you are no doubt aware I would happily blame my CPAP for every know health issue and, of course, climate change as well, but I very much doubt that it could impact on the actual bone of an adult skull.

It's more likely that some of these 'deformities' were caused by undernourishment or prolonged dehydration at critical stages in the skull's early formation.

The American CPAP companies don't require prescriptions to sell machines and masks when they are being shipped to Australia.

This is the reverse to what I was complaining about some time ago.

Size Matters

I recently inherited a Resmed N20 Product presumably 'for her' which I found to be quite a good design, but way too small for me. When I set the adjustments to the last point of traction it just fits, but the straps have a lot of potential in the other direction, so it seems to me that it would fit quite a small head.

I was sufficiently impressed with it's function to decide that I need to order one in a medium size.

Well my CPAP may need protecting from a certain BUG and the software may have bugs, but yes I mean real bugs!

True, they can't get sucked in through the filter, if it is properly in place and not lost somewhere in the past, but I move around quite a bit.

In the meantime there's this big double doorway to a fun tunnel that winds through the landscape leading to an enclosed pool of nice fresh water. Much more convenient than a distant shower or laundry.

A perfect spot for a new base and, if some of them lose their grip in one of those occasional blizzards, they get a free ride to a totally new underground maze of tunnels and caves with enough essentials to last a lifetime.

Where I am presently, because I also move around quite a bit (in my sleep), is on the floor in a room full of really tiny ants that just love to explore.

Should I wind the pressure down a few notches and turn on the ramp for them? Would a heated hose help them to move faster and hang on better? Is there a mask with little doors that slam shut when I'm not using it? Is that drum of DDT still out in the shed?
