We ended up using separate twin XL beds pushed together so we could each use our own adjustable baseāhelped a lot with the leg jerks. Also had success with memory foam to reduce motion transfer. While we were furniture shopping for our kids, we came across some unique kids bunk beds that had surprisingly good noise isolation, so maybe something like that with solid wood could work in a pinch too.
