I recently upgraded my machine from an Resmed Elite ( circa 1990's) to a Resmed Airsense 10. My old machine worked ok but was getting quirky. My new machine has resulted in a problem where the back of my mouth creates a blockage when I try to exhale through my nose and I then end up mouth btreathing - something that doesn't happen with my old machine. I suspect that too much air is being forced in causing the exhalation problems. It's an auto set. But because the problem is with exhalation, the machine doesn't seem to be regulating correctly. Anybody else have this problem?

since you got a new machine, I suspect it was set up by a med supply place? If so, they worked from a prescription and if the prescription was old, you may need to discuss this with a sleep doc. Perhaps a new study would be the result so they can accurately gauge how to set the machine in that mode.

Hello. I encourage you to talk to the equipment supplier about the problem you are having. If they are unable to help, then I would say contact your physician. If your machine settings are correct, your airway should remain open during exhalation. Let us know how things go!
