For the past five days I been waking up with dry mouth and sore throat while using CPAP.... I been using it for over a year. Also I've notice that a few times I hardly used any water. At times CPAP says Ive slept 7 hours and I wake up tired, groggy. I appreciate any explanation and advise you may have.
I can think of a couple of explanations. Are you using a nasal mask and is it possible you are opening your mouth during your sleep. The air rushing out your mouth can give you a dry mouth by morning.
The other possibility is that your humidifier is not working. What kind of machine do you have? Are you using a heated hose? How is the humidity control set up? When you remove the humidifier reservoir in the morning is it quite warm?
Sierra, I am using a nasal mask, when I started using the CPAP a year ago, I was opening my mouth during sleep but I learn not to but when I fall asleep I cant say for sure. I have the ResMed AirSense 10, it has a regular hose, not heated. The humidity reservoir is not warm when I remove it in the morning and a few times water level remains the same fill to the line. The humidity is on the bottom right hand of machine? it says 2
