Hi, My name is Jim, I've been using a BiPap for about 10 years now. The fact that I had Sleep Apnea was caught by an anesthesiologist right before a shoulder surgery. He was asking what I took certain meds for, one med was for Restless Leg Syndrome (RLS). He told me I should get a Sleep Study done, because at my age RLS sometimes indicated sleep apnea. The night I did the test was a pretty restless one, however when I went home the next morning, my wife asked "what did they do to you, you look like you feel on top of the world?". Funny thing was I did and had only slept on a machine for about 2.5 hours that evening. What a difference it has made for me. I tell anyone I know if you suspect you might or one of your family might have OSA, have it checked. I also tell them you'll or they'll never know how bad they feel until they begin to feel better!
