I've had an issue lately when I go to sleep I feel this shaking or quaking feeling in my chest. Has anyone else had this issue in relation to using a CPAP machine? Is the pressure set too high? I've lost about 50 pounds since I started using my machine. Is it possible this feeling has nothing to do with the CPAP? It's been getting worse lately (last night, I was only able to sleep about four hours). Any help is greatly appreciated.

I am not a doctor but have heard repeatedly that being overweight is a contributor to sleep apnea. It makes sense that if you dropped a good bit of weight, it would make sense to get another sleep study to see if current pressure that was set up by prescription is still optimum. Perhaps also just talk with the sleep doc who did the initial study to see if this makes sense or that doc has some other direction to help mitigate the current issue you are having. Keep us up to date on progress and good luck!

Hey Ardizzle, I have the same problem-usually wakes me up each night. Also makes my chest hurt somewhat. I have not lost any weight. But would love to here if anyone has found any solutions.

Hi adrizze. I agree with wiredgeorge. If you have lost 50 pounds since you started CPAP therapy, you might need a new sleep study. Weight loss or gain can impact the amount of air pressure needed to treat your condition. I also encourage you to talk to your doctor about any strange feelings in your chest. Please keep us posted!
