Greetings and thank you for your thoughts and advice. I have a resmed Airsennse 10 and humidifier and a resmed airtouch F20 mask. When my girlfriend moved in I was having problems with it and gave up for a long time. I was diagnosed sever 48 incidents per hour, and was falling asleep during staff meetings and anytime. Somehow I have become better and don't fall asleep at drop of a hat but I think some nights the breathing is an issue. I have found no research that supports it getting better by itself. I just lost a friend 61 passed in her sleep we are waiting to see why she had some reflux issues which I also have so I think its scaring me to get back to CPAP. I hope you had nice holidays.
Thanks Ill check it out does sleep apnea ever get better on its own?
I have finally found a mask that seems to work except when I awake my muscles around my mouth are sore, if I Loosen the mask I get leaks. I am a mouth breather so nasal pillows not an option. Any thoughts? Also I took a break for awhile as that I was frustrated and while I was diagnosed with severe sleep apnea I haven't presented with symptoms, at least not sleeping during day does it ever correct itself? Nothing else has changed, not heavy so no weight loss or anything like that. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
Thanks for responding, I have a lot of problems with eye to hand coordination, always have and 62 years later not much different. I wind up going to the lab when I think its off not really sure how to adjust without making it worse. I check my score on resmed my air each morning, would it be beneficial for me to use sleepyhead and if so where is it written how to interpret data. I haven't tried liners any brand or type you suggest? are they easy to work with? I am not sure weather its the leaks or maybe when pressure ramps up during the night that's a problem. Also on airsense 20 CPAP if I put it on test and lie down to try and set leaks does it go back to 4 after a few minutes. My machine ramps between 4-15 and 13 is what the dr says is best. I will look into simplus is there a model you like? Thanks again.
Hi All, I am struggling with mask fit and CPAP in hopes someone will have some thoughts. I was diagnosed with severe sleep apnea 49 events an hour so I am trying really hard to be compliant. I am using a full face, as a mouth breather cant seem to handle anything else Resmed F20 both with and without memory foam. The machine ramps up from 4.5-13 depending on what is needed. I am having problems keeping the mask on longer than 3-4 hours and seem to get a lot of leaking. I struggle to adjust and wind up going back to the lab for multiple adjustments. I don't want anything more evasive like chin straps etc, and sleep on my back. I am not sure if its leaks or something else I do at night but the numbers don't impress me. Over the last two months I am running between 3-4 hours with 2 nights of 5 and 6. Events are reduced to 1.8-4.4. last night was a record 6.55 hours but 19 events each hour. My leaks are always high in the high 30s. I am frustrated don't want to give up. Also my smile muscles hurt every morning . I would welcome any help. I live in CT and there doesn't seem to be any local support groups. I have talked to the provider resmed the vender and the dr and still cant figure it out. The only other mask I used was the amora view which really hurt my facial muscles.
