Thank you very much for you guidance and taking the time to respond. Things seems to be settling a little, turned pressure down and I am coping OK, but will be seeking further advice to be sure there is no risk of any long term damage to my eye.
Good morning, I was informed that dental devices have a poor success rate if you have severe OSA (37), do you have a view on this at all, not seen a lot of evidence to support of disprove this. Thanks D
Thank you very much for taking the time to reply, much appreciated. The advice I had from my Sleep Centre was the MAD was not very effective if you have severe OSA, willing to try all options though. I have a new face mask, although my eye is now watering it is so far workable, but will be getting advice if this has any risk of long term damage to my eye. Was not very confident when clinician said in 14 years he had not come across the tear duct and OSA case! I think I need a few second opinions.
I have just had a CPAP machine for 2 days, unfortunately I think I am going have a major problem using it. I had an operation a few years ago to resolve a blocked tear duct, this involved creating a bypass (effectively I now have a hole in the bone of my nose). The air pressure and tears are blowing straight up into my eye, sorry for the full description!! I am really hoping someone has had the same operation and issue and can guide on how you managed to resolve this. I am trying a new machine today with warm air and humidifier. also lowering air pressure but I am not confident at all this will work. Many thanks
