The machine is 4 years old, so I would have to wait another year for a new one. I saw the pcp about it and he gave me the rx for the heated tubing conversion, but I have not yet told him it isn't working. I will try what you suggested. Thanks!
I have the Philips System One CPAP. I was using it on the System One setting to reduce rainout for several years. This year, I started noticing that when I woke up, I was using less and less water every night. I also have asthma and it is triggered by cold dry air. I started having asthma attacks several times a night, and my water tank would be cold and full, even though the heat setting was on 5 (highest). I turned off the System One setting and tried that way. I got plenty of humidity, but even on the lowest heat setting, I would wake up with a mask full of water in an hour or 2. I called my medical supply company, and they had me come if for a heated hose, and told me to stop using the system one setting. I got that 2 weeks ago. It seemed better for a few nights, but now it is happening again. My system will preheat fine, water and hose, but as soon as I put the mask on and the system goes from preheat to normal, the water and hose get cold and stay that way. I can't get a new machine or humidifier for another year. Any tips for this?
