For me air leakage was because the max air flow was too strong. Adjusted max flow has now stopped the hurrican in my mouth.m,iterally i could not close my mouth at air flow of 16
Currently that app only supports two PAP machines and mine is not one of them. There are a few apps out there and I have to take the chip out of the machine and download to my computer. Awkward but works
Thanks Dan. The dry mouth, wind tunnel affect has woken me up twice a night and only on the right side. Could be something physiological with sleeping on right side that makes the apnea worse. My machine is an APAP. It is set at a prescribed flow and i undersatand it will adjust according to need. Will follow up today because tonight will make 7 nights on the machine.
Last night was my 4th night as a hose head. I.m adjusting is the best way to summarize so far.
Neck roll works but will have to soften it up by removing some stuffing.
I have noticed the mask leak and dry mouth only occurs when I.ve rolled to my right side. I had an inhome monitor so i don.t have any observations from a sleep study that would tell me.
Anyway, how can i tell if it.s an apnea episode that is causing the airflow to increase therefore causing hurricane airflow from the hose which dries out my mouth? When the air is blowing crazy like that my mouth fills with air and i feel like a puffer fish. Does the airflow increase when the machine detects a mask leak?
I was hoping not to wake up anymore at night. Good news is no more nap when i get home from work just to make it bed time.

I tried a standard neckroll/bolster style pillow. It helped from keeping the mask from moving. It.s a big hard for all night so my next experiement is to take some of the stuffing out. It.s cheaper than the $80plus for "CPAP" pillows.
I can only log in using a web browser. I downloaded the app and it does not recognize login and password. I created a second acct using another email address and same thing happened.
I tightened my straps once i laid down with my full face mask. That helped for sleeping on my right side. When i rolled to the left i got air leakage again. i.m going to try a neck roll instead of a pillow. There are special pillows just for PAP users, that will be next if this does not work.
I would suggest getting a new mattress. Most back pains, etc are because the mattresses are too old and no longer support our body. Think of what. 15 year old sofa would look like if you sat in the same spot for 10 years. If you can.t afford a new bed then try an egg crate mattress topper. I use it for camping and I feel like great.
i.ve read a few posts on mask issues so i.ll try a few. Last night was my first hose head night. The excess air that vents through the mask make my arms cold. I sleep curled up like a shrimp. Okay so tonight i wear long sleeves to bed. During the night the hose swiveled to accommodate my rolling around. That made the exhaust value spray directly into my eyes. I lost seal many times and the pressure made my cheeks puff out like a dog with their head hanging out the car window at 65mph. Temporary solution was to hold the pillow full face mask in place long enough to seal the gap and fall asleep. I tightened the straps a few times but i think it.s when i burrow into the pillow that moves the mask.
Have people switched pillows to neck rolls to prevent mask shifting! I.ll try making a hose guide on the head board so it still swivels but not all the way around.

My name is Regina and last night was my first CPAP night. I was made aware of my APNEA 20 years ago and finally was able to get diagnosed and treatment started.
I see a lot of valuable info on the forum. Thanks to everyone for sharing your experiences. It does help.
