Thanks for the reply! You seem to be the main one here who offers support and answers questions. I'll be becoming more active as I learn this CPAP process. So far, my air leaks seem non existent. I do wear my mask as tightly as I can stand it and still be able to sleep. I think you're right about tracking. A months data has got to be more telling than a week. I have a doctors appointment on Monday. Barring her changing something, I'll just keep going for a month, when I have another appointment with her.
Again, thanks for the reply!
Hello,
I just started my CPAP treatment this week, and so far the results have been all over the place as far as how many apneas an hour I'm having. I also have mild COPD. All in all, I'm having no trouble handling the treatment using a full face mask. I've worn it every night the entire night and all in all, I believe I'm feeling more energy during the day.
My apneas before CPAP were in the forty an hour range. I've used it for a week and the first night I had 15 an hour. The second night it increased to 26 an hour and then the next night, 28 an hour. I talked to my therapist and she recommended that I add oxygen. (I was always using two liters of oxygen before at night because of COPD).
The first night, I added one liter an hour and had 10 apneas. The next night, because of improvement, I added two liters of oxygen an hour and had 17 apneas an hour. That was actually last night.
All in all, I think I'm doing fine with the treatment. I guess this is just sort of an introduction to the forum.
Good to meet ya!
Chuck
