I have the Z1 Auto to use on the road and when camping with the battery pack. Overal I prefer the performance of my ResMed AirSense 10 but the Z1 Auto is adequate for other times. The Z1 is much noisier than the AirSense although each is rated at 25dB. The problem with the Z1 is that the noise seems to come from the mask even when using the same AirFit P10 pillow mask with both machines. I can't justify the expense of the Z1 muffler or the humidifier so I can report on those. I have three battery packs for the Z1 which will allow me about four days off the grid. The batteries are way overpriced and it took me five batteries to find three good ones. I think Z1 battery quality control is better now.

This is a good description of what happens to me too. Occasionally I will have to tell myself to breathe. However, it never happens when I am exercising or otherwise exerting myself. I wonder if is like central apnea only while awake or is there an otherwise "official" name for this awake hypopnea?

I have moderate sleep apnea and have been on a ResMed AirSense 10 CPAP for almost three years. I do feel much better but, I think the quality (or lack of quality) of my sleep is not accurately reflected in ResMed's MyAir. It seems more like a quantitative report as opposed to a qualitative report. I still feel tired even when scoring most nights at 99-100. So, I think I am getting the quantity of sleep, just not quality sleep. Am I interpreting this correctly? Thanks!
