Thank you for the reply. Is there a way to try CPAP without going through another sleep study? I don't think my insurance will cover another study.
Hi, I recently had a sleep study done and the study did not find I suffered from sleep apnea. My AHI was 4.4 (below the 5 AHI threshhold for slight apnea) and my oxygen levels were alright. With that being said, it's a bit iffy because they did not record any REM sleep and apparently that is where most apneas occur. I am also having issues with insomnia (specifically trying to stay asleep) and have been recommended to see a psychologist/psychiatrist to deal with my depression/anxiety that could be interfering with my sleep. I still have a part of me that believes there to be a physical issue in my sleep troubles, but it seems consultations and a sleep study make sleep apnea an unlikely diagnosis. Should I try and resolve my depression/anxiety issues before attempting to consult with another sleep physician or should I get a 2nd opinion from another sleep physician? I was thinking perhaps I should consult with an actual ENT to see if there are any physical abnormalities that could affect my breathing when I sleep.
Please, I am having disastrous health effects because of poor sleep and would really appreciate any advice!
Thank you.
