Do you have the pincher (sorry I don’t know the actual name) things to tighten the gear? When I got my stuff from the medical supply company it came with 2.
I’m glad you were able to get a machine and start using it amid all this! I got mine 2 1/2 months ago so I was lucky to get it just before covid got really going here. I think I had to wait over a couple of weeks to get mine after my night using one at the sleep center and I was ready to break in and steel one lol.
Have you had a sleep test with a cpap machine or just one that diagnosed you with apnea? I’m asking because if you’ve had one using a cpap maybe you can contact your doctor and ask them for the pressure settings they used for you to get good results. Also I don’t know that I would worry about sleeping a little longer the first few nights. I’m not a doctor but I know I NEEDED to do some catching up my first few days of using mine.
I read that too.i thought I might throw my old one in the washer and see what happens. I’m going to look into that other headgear strap, thanks for the heads up.
i am about 2 and a half months into using my BiPAP. Recently I have been having issues with my gear being comfortable. I use a ResMed airfit p10 nasal pillow. I had used the pinches or whatever they are called to make my gear tighter, but only less than a quarter of an inch. I ordered a new band and was surprised when it came how much my old one had stretched, it was over an inch and a half. I tried the new one last night and my comfort issues were solved. Just wanted to throw it out to other newer users that they may be having the same problem I was an idea to try.
I ordered some cbd gummies with melatonin, no thc though. If nothing else maybe it will help with the anxiousness I sometimes get when I first put the mask on until I get comfortable with it.
Even though my apnea’s and hour is rarely above 5 lately I still often wake up every 2 hours. I am wondering about trying cbd oil to see if that helps. Have any of you ever tried it?
This also ties into my thread about possibly trying other masks. I just got 2 replacement pillows for my p10 and I haven’t slept with it yet, but I did try it and it is much more comfortable than my old one. The air temperature was also noticeably warmer to me. I compared them and noticed the new pillow is much firmer than my older one. I know some of you have used yours much longer than I have used this one, which was also my first one. But on my first short test I notice a big difference. I’m wondering if it’s because my air pressure is in the higher range, 15-21? Either way, I’ll report back tomorrow.
I just had my follow with my doctor and he told me I should be switching nasal pillows once a month. I’ve had mine for 2 months. I ordered 2 online since it was cheaper than going thru my insurance. My pillows have been a little less comfortable the past few days and I’m hoping the new once will do the trick. But I was also thinking about trying the resend airfit f30. I’ve been using the resmed airfit p10 and its the only one I’ve used so far. I’ve been wondering what a nasal mask would be like instead of the pillows. Especially since I have a higher pressure setting than average. Have any of you used both?
Hi. Sierra is the guru around here so she should be able to help you I sure. Since I use the same mask I thought I would add on. I definitely feel air flowing thru the vents when the machine is on. Especially at your max setting of 14. I got all of my things from a medical supply place thru my insurance. If your mask is that new I would guess you can exchange it for a new one for free. At least I would hope that’s how it works for what sounds like defective equipment.
That is the machine I use. I have a stand from amazon that goes under the top cushion to hold the hose above my head.
