I have sinus infections too. I have one now and trying to get over this bacterial infection. It was suggested that I not use tap water to clean my tubing, What do you use? I also only turn on the water if it is not humid out. If it is really humid out, it makes me stuffed up while having my nasal pillows on. I sometimes go back and forth with the settings of the humidifier. I will start w one and then go up to 2 if needed. Sometimes I just have to turn it off. When stuffed up from the infections, it is a bear to breath and get restful sleep.
If it is very humid out, if I turn it on, it makes it worse.
I have chronic sinus infections. Moreso recently, I was diagnosed with a bacteria called Pseudomonas. It is a water born pathogen. So. now I am very careful in my cleaning and the doc wants me to not use tap water to clean my tubing and chamber. I think its also the other way around. I have definitely more infections since using my mask.
Bottom Line is if you are getting the sleep you need and deserve!
Sorry, it kept saying it didn't work and I guess it did!!!
Hello all, I am new here. I have sleep apnea and recently have gotten many upper respiratory infections. I have a pseudomonas bacteria that is tough to get rid of in my sinuses. A doc suggested I wash my tubing w sterile water. This is hard to find and in small quantities. I wanted to know if anyone washes their tubing w distilled water that is much easier to find. Pseudomonas is a water bound pathogen that can come from tap water. Thanks for your replies. Joanie
Hi. New here. I believe I have gotten a bacteria infection due to my apnea machine. Pseudomonas is tough to get rid of. The doc mentioned to only use sterile water to clean tubing. It's hard to find jugs of this. Does anyone clean their tubing with distilled water? That is so much easier to find. Thanks. Joanie
