Hi I'm Rob, I suffer with Obsturctive Sleep Apnea and want to chat with people suffering with the same thing :)

Hi all,

I have been suffering for years now with night terrors and jolting in my sleep. I went to the sleep clinic a while ago who did sleep study's on me and provided me with some drugs which I slowly stopped taking and now the terrors have stopped. I do however, suffer with being constantly tired and constant muscle pain all the time (for which I currently manage with zapain and ibuprofen)

So....

To cut a long story short, I play a lot of sport and suffer with muscle pain on a daily basis (At least that' what I thought it was)

Anyway, I went for a blood test and the doctor said I had a high rheumatoid factor and sent me to rheumatology for a second opinion. After seeing the consultant there he seems to believe that I do not have rheumatoid arthuritus which is great, but does believe that the root cause of my "mus-co/skeletal pain" is down to "obstructive sleep apnea"

He feels, I am not getting oxygen to my lungs and re-generating my muscles while in sleep mode and I am not getting the red-blood cells oxygenating them (Which by the way does make sense when I think about it)

I have been told I need to try a CPAP machine for a week, but have to go back to the sleep clinic again to get re-assessed before this can happen.

My reason for reaching out to people like myself is to see if there's anyone out there struggling with the same thing and is there anything I can do to ease the constant tiredness and pain before I have to go through the long drawn out process of going back to the sleep clinic (Just to get a CPAP machine)

Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated (I'm told the CPAP machine works wonders)

Thank you.

Rob (UK)
