I've had my Dreamstation now for 6 months. I've not rinsed the tubing yet because I can't figure out how to remove the tube from the machine. It has a bulky adapter that slides in a space on top of where the humidifier is. I just got new tubing from my medical supplier and it has just a port on either end that you would slide onto something. I can't get the old tube out, and question if this new tube will stick in place as it doesn't have some snap type adapter to hold it to the machine. Does anyone know how to unlock my tube from the machine? Will the slide in new tubing stay in place if I can get the old tube out??? Also just got a new filter, the old one was black.
I am on bipap and at pressure of 19 and 23. I use Preferred Homecare and they have been useless for support. I've made multiple calls to them and they promise to get an RT to call me and they never do.
I wrote a posting last week. I just signed in to see if there were any updates and I can't find my posting. I thought I put it in this forum. sure would appreciate some assistance, new to CPAP last week. How do I find my posting to check for replies? thanks.
New to BIPAP this week. I've got the same problem and only been on BIPAP for 4 days. I was DX with OSA a few months ago while in the ICU for massive pulmonary embolism from a DVT I didn't know I had. It took 2 months to get my BIPAP. My pressures are high, 23 and 19. During my sleep study I had apnea 168 times an hour with oxygen sats dropping to 34%. My pulmonologist said I set new records! I don't know how to read the info on the machine yet, it's a Dream-something. In the past 4 days of using the BIPAP I've now got sores on my face from the mask and have fallen asleep at the wheel 3 times driving my truck while stopped at red lights in traffic. I'm exhausted due to lack of sleep with this beast on my face. It blows in when I want to exhale. I'm dreading going to bed every night now to have to strap this beast to my face and spend the night with it blowing my mouth open and shut. The water compartment is so tiny it runs dry after 4 hours so I have to fill it up again in the middle of the night (I live in the desert). I'm so disappointed that I feel worse off with treatment than without.
