If you had a sleep study and it said OSA and your surgery was not for apnea, maybe you want to consider going "solo". It is possible to purchase a good auto machine without a prescription. I know of 2 Airsense 10 Autosets with very low hours (24 and 48 run hours) $395 ea plus shipping...Paypal. By downloading SleepyHead / OSCAR to your computer you can manage your won care.

OSCAR - Open Source CPAP Analysis Reporter

We are formally establishing a proper and legal fork on GitLab in March (no guarantees) with the name OSCAR - Open Source CPAP Analysis Reporter of the now-closed SleepyHead project. Mark Watkins, aka jedimark, is the author of SleepyHead which is the foundation of this Fork and as such we will be forever grateful. The initial release, OSCAR v.1.0.0, will have minimal changes from SleepyHead v 1.1.0 and is primarily to establish the fork of SleepyHead. Once we release we will announce a published a link to the source in accordance with the GPL version 3. The following release will have bugfixes, translations, and perhaps some enhancements added.

Development for OSCAR is being performed by a group of developers from the Apnea Community, comprised of some of the same individuals that have contributed to previous versions of SleepyHead and others that have not, including individuals from multiple forums and multiple nationalities, in other words OSCAR is being developed by volunteers who are working on developing the worlds best, most complete, with more models being compatible, than any other product in the world. We can always use more Developers, Translators, Documenters, and Testers. Your machine is compatible with Sleepyhead. Download from [https://www.apneaboard.com/sleepyhead/]. With it you will be able to view details of what is happening down to a breath by breath level if necessary. The important charts for initial analysis are Flow Rate, Flow Limit, Pressure, Leak Rate and Snore. (you can vertically shrink Flow Limit, Leak Rate and Snore to fit all on one page, also don't need the pie chart and calander on the left.)

This is much better info that the averages that you typically look at.

As Sierra said it is a balancing act. You need enough "comfort" to sleep with this contraption on your face, then you need to get your Apnea under control (<5) then comfort again tales over. Keep in mind that apnea is only one cause of sleep disruptions, there are many others. Look at Sleep Hygiene, the meds you take and other factors. On all the apnea forums there is focus on apnea, go figure.

This is an area Sleepyhead is very good at. If Sleepyhead shows a LL or Large Leak you have something that should be addressed because that could be impacting your therapy. https://www.apneaboard.com/sleepyhead/ to download SLeepyhead

I would suggest 6 to 20 with EPR 2 then adjust for night 2. It is unlikely that you will use the full range but this will give us the data to advise on adjustments. Think of your first night as being similar to a titration study but without all the wires. To adjust post your Sleepyhead nightly charts and we will help you.

This fork occurred because the developer of Sleepyhead, Mark Watkins, has issued a statement that the Sleepyhead project is closed. We are currently vetting the new name, OSCR pronounced Oscar, for Open Source CPAP Reviewer (we cannot use Sleepyhead). We are still looking for developers to help us. The "Apnea Software Talk" is a think tank for collaborating on the next generation of the CPAP analysis and reporting software. To be clear, this is not an Apnea Board Project.

Set yourself up with your CPAP and use it under pressure while you are reading, watching TV, or playing games on your phone. You don't have to sleep while doing this. The Idea is to do something pleasurable while "using" your CPAP so your body and you can learn that this is not a bad thing.

Another thing, you are at 2 hrs, give yourself a reward when you get to 3 hrs.

I like to look at the charts to see if something is going on. I use Sleepyhead to do that ( https://www.apneaboard.com/sleepyhead/ ). Also, what are your settings? Frequently we see they are set to low for comfort.
