My input is pretty minimal, looks like your max pressure is ok your not bouncing off the max.
It looks like you could increase the minimum pressure to 8 you will get in to the sweet spot quicker.
On the ramp I concur I found 6 or so provides pretty comfortable breathing, you want to eliminate breathing resistance
With the mask on while awake,
The EPR I like 3 makes exhaling much more comfortable, I read you can get rid of it with experience.
It really sounds like your body is telling you to be on CPAP, my RT told me to avoid tucking your chin to help keep air from your stomach a store bought cervical collar might help. Also don’t be afraid to adjust the pressure, the machine I use is very smart and only uses just enough to eliminate my apnea’s but in your case a bit less pressure may allow you to tolerate it and still eliminate most of them.

I had a home test and loved the convenience, the new machines are very smart a lab titrations is a thing of the past.
I am sure an overnight sleep study has some value but on a case by case basis.
The more people that can get diagnosed and treated the better.
I have been using CPAP for a couple months and it is night and day.
I have been using a Resmed 10 for about 3 weeks, recently I was issued a new Resmed 10, I am retired NAVY
on my first night I have been fighting a cold so that added a bit of confusion.
the settings are 10 to 20 auto with auto ramp at 6
so trying to get to sleep there is lots of noise the Resmed 10 is specs at 30db which is very quiet.
the CPAP moves from rap to therapy pretty quickly while I am still awake reading a book, then the therapy pressure is very abrupt and harsh
compared to my previous unit I figure it is just the new machine.
so while trying to sleep the pressure ramps up well beyond my typical say 15 vs 10 to 12 again I figure its the new machines program.
several times I have to shut the machine down to tend my cold or to reset the ramp so I can go back to sleep midnight, 2am rolls by
on investigation I find there is air leaking around the joint where the water tank connects to the Resmed, being in maintenance I am familiar with new seals and how sometimes they need broken in, I disconnected and installed the tank several times with attention to alignment.
on reflection something was wrong, I seated the tank and it appeared to be secure and went back to sleep, about the time the machine reached therapy pressure the tank came lose and the pressure ramped up in a short time I woke up with a face full of pressure, I looked at the read out at 19.3! I shut it down, I then retrieved my tank from my first airsence 10 and plugged it in to the new unit which felt very familiar from my prior 3 weeks of use unlike the new one. I was in some pain the pressure had forced air into my stomach and having had corrective surgery for acid reflux burping was not an option this would eventually correct itself.
at this point the machine was much quieter than before about 40 db by my measurement I had no further problems for the hour before I had to get up for work yawn!
the next morning I compared the tanks and found no obvious flaws, the bad tank would insert almost all the way to with in about 1/8 in then the final seating was squishy and retention poor, the good tank engaged the socket with more confidence and inserted to about 1/4in then the final seating would lock it in.
Conclusion, the tank caused a severe leak that maxed out the cpap almost it still tried to supply pressure the cpap was making lots of noise like a computer fan on overload, the air supplied was very ruff the shifts in pressure were aggressive feeling I had the exhale option set so every change in pressure was abrupt.
the cpap could still since my breathing through the mask but the log shows a hole mess of events and pressure increases.
my care provider is sending a replacement tank and also another one of those quiet elbows that also had a manufacturing flaw.
I looked to see if Resmed had a customer service email, they don't so I can call them and tell them the story.
I wonder if they would be interested in inspecting the tank and elbow to improve there quality control.
figured I would tell the storie incase someone else has similar problems.
