i did not have afib before i started bipap. i ONLY have it when i use bipap. with bipap my ahi is below 1. i do have sleepy head but i dont know what to look for as far as flow limitations. my ahi without bipap is 15.

my doc took me off my bipap. everytime i use it my heart goes into atrial fibrillation. my pressure is 4/8. my ahi is less than 1. if i dont use it i feel great. not tired, no problems. use it and i am exhausted and wake up in atrial fib. anyone have any idea what could be happening?

hello. i never saw this reply. i just recently wrote in the forum again and addressed it to you. i am still having the same problem with sleep onset apneas and still have yet to fall asleep with my bipap wether the ramp is on or not. is bipap the best machine for sleep onset apneas? my setting is 8/4. my ahi is 15.9. i have obstrictive sleep apnea. thanx

I have an ahi of 15.9. I am on BiPAP machine and diagnose with obstructive sleep apnea. My doctor put me on BiPAP machine cuz he said it is more comfortable. For me it's a matter of life and death as it is affecting my heart. My problem is I keep having sleep onset apneas. I've been trying to use this machine for 7 months and because of these sleep onset apneas ,I'm unable to use it. I've gone through two sleep doctors who one, never heard of it, and the other one doesn't know what to do about it. I have tried turning the ramp off. I have tried different pressures. And I have tried setting the machine to Auto. Nothing seems to work do you have any advice?

every since i started cpap/bipap i have developed tinnitus. has this happened to anyone else? does it go away?

this may be a double post. are you saying that for someone that cant breathe thru their nose they cant have a oral appliance ? will the oral appliance not work with mouth opened??

sleep dent: are you saying that if someone has to breath thru their mouth, then an oral appliance would not work?

hello. i am new to all this. I have obstructive sleep apnea and use a resmed 10 bipap. i have had the machine for almost 4 months. i have yet to fall asleep with the machine. i got compliant by wearing the machine 4 hours a day while reading or watching tv. i am use to the mask and pressure . it does not bother me. my problem is at night. right when i am about to fall asleep , i stop breathing. i dont inhale. its like my brain does tell me to breathe in. again, i am not asleep yet , but about to fall asleep. if i am not breathing long enough it registers as a central apnea. i read it is called sleep onset centrals, however i cant get my sleep doc to help. he knows i need this to live. i am in left side heart failure with pulmonary hypertension. yet he says he will see me in a year. no advice. just says keep trying. i try every single not. after 2 hours of stopping breathing multiple times while transitioning to sleep, i give up . i saw another sleep doc and he said take a sleeping pill. i told him if the machine is not helping with apneas now, how will depressing my respiratory drive with a sleeping pill enable the machine to help me breathe better??? makes no sense. can someone please help me? is there a sleep tech on this forum???thank you
