I have seen several posts about being so relaxed they forget to breath or breath shallow or hold their breath. All annoying and valid concepts to explore treatment options. But for me this does not come close when all of a sudden my body stops breathing. It is not some calm change in condition, but much more akin to suffocating. I stomp my foot, family come racing to hit my back all hoping to dislodge an obstruction and allow me to breath again. Except there is nothing to dislodge, afterwards the only way to explain it, is that my chest walls or diaphragm, or a component of normal respiratory process COMPLETELY STOPPED I could not draw a breath. I am wondering if anyone else has experienced this sporadically all your life? It is next to impossible to get a diagnosis because there are no signs when or where an episode will occur next
