My mom has been wearing a Bipap machine for about 8-9 nights. Quite similar to CPAP machines but contains an oxygen bleed line, as well. She is wearing it because of IPF; needs to be blowing off the CO2 that she builds up during the day.
Trouble is, she seems to knock the mask off while sleeping. Ergo, might be going a number of hours without the Bipap and without her oxygen line. I realize it takes time to adjust to wearing the mask. However, she is 81 and it's just not good for her to be without oxygen for too long.
My question: does any manufacturer of machine/mask (or even a reputable 3rd party) make an alarm that would alert her and/or others in the house that mask has been removed?
Current machine & mask specs in case this helps. bipap machine: manufacturer: ResMed model: AirCurve 10 VAuto Serial number: 23171006661
current mask: mask manufacturer: ResMed mask model: AirFit F20
Thanks very much, in advance, for any advice or suggestions.
