I have turned off both EPR and ramp. Do you think reducing the pressure would help? I was originally prescribed 10cm , but now it is set at 11.2 cm. I am thinking of reducing it to 10.8 cm and see . I read somewhere that increased pressure can cause centrals
I checked again . I dont see any option for ramp only EPR. By the way, does a bipap machine help with Sleep onset centrals? I had a horrible night last night. I think I will go back to the doctor and ask for a bipap. Thanks
Thanks again. Unfortunately, the Resmed Airsense 10 does not have any EPR setting for ramp only. Just two settings : on and off. I set it to on and the pressure to 11.6 . Lets see what happens.
I also noticed that most of these events occur in the morning as I am just waking up and going through the sleep/ wake cycle
Hi folks
Back here after a while. Havent been active here due to other health issues. To give am update: I am on a Resmed air sense 10 for about a year with a fixed pressure of 11cm ( no ramp or epr). I had initial issues with sleep onset apneas and cpap seems to have helped ( at least it keeps my AHI numbers down) .
However , of late have been noticing sleep onset events creeping back up. Does anyone think I should reduce the pressure a bit ( I was prescribed 10cm ) ? Do CPAP machines lose effectiveness over a period of time? Should I start using EPR and ramp again?
Thanks all for your valuable insight
Could it be the airflow on the sides that is causing the pressure on the skull? One of the big advantages of the respironics dreamwear full face mask is that unlike others, the tube attaches to the top of the head rather than the front of the nose . This is helpful for me because , I turn quite a lot in my sleep and something in front of my face will cause a lot of mess. I wear my mask before I attach the tube , so when I wear it , it is quite comfortable without being too tight, but maybe when the pressure ramps up , it exerts extra pressure on the skull
Anyone experience skull indentations with CPAP mask? I have used a respironics dreamwear full face mask for about 8 months now and I have started to notice indentations on the top and back of my head. Anyone else experienced that? Anything to be concerned about ?

Did you ever have any trouble using your CPAP machine (Air Sense 10) abroad (Asia/Europe/Central America)? Looking for advise as I am scheduled to visit Europe and the Mexico sometime in October/November..
I understand I need to carry a travel adapter for the electrical sockets , but any issues other than that? For example, how easy/hard it is to get distilled water in Mexico for the humidifier?
Most of the leaks seem to come from the nasal area and I noticed that higher pressures lead to more leaks. I could see sybstantial improvement by reducing the pressure from 11 to 10. Do you know any full face masks that attach the tube from the top?
Most of the events occur well after the ramp time of 15 minutes. And they are not true apneas so not recorded or reported by sleepyhead or resmed. They more resemble RERA events less than 10 seconds in duration. I have noticed that if i am not asleep in 30-45 mins I start getting these events. If I asleep by that time, then no worries
Hello all
I am fairly new to this forum. Currently using ResMed AirSense 10 autoset for her with a Respironics DreamWear full face mask .(The one with nasal pillows).
My AHI numbers are quite good (below 1) although I do get sleep onset apeneas now and then. I am at a CPAP pressure of 11CM with no EPR and a ramp time of 15 minutes.
Of late, I have been noticing a lot of leaks with my mask. I tried using remzz mask liners but to no avail. I really like the mask as it is less bulky than others and the fact that the tubing is attached to the top rather than in front of the nose.
Any suggesttions to reducing mask leaks ?
