So I have a 2nd hand CPAP machine which my doctor gave me on rent, the problem with the machine is that it has max pressure of 20, I am having moderate SA. and my AHI for pressure 15 was 1 but yesterday for an experiment I kept the max pressure on 20 and within 10 -15 minutes when I was just laying on my bed watching movie with the mask on the pressure reached 20, the pressure reaches it's maximum as set within 10 - 15 minutes, So is this machine the type of Auto machine or something else and how does auto CPAP machine works.
Does my CPAP pressure tends to increase when I am suffering from a cough and stuffy nose? my pressure was on 15 but in the morning I woke up gasping for the air. at normal days my AHI for pressure 15 was 1. So, do my CPAP pressure tends to increase when I am suffering from a cough and stuffy nose.
Suffering from moderate sleep apnea, feeling comfortable with pressure 14 - 15 as my AHI for that period was only 1, but when my titration test was going doctor set the pressure max 20 and it reached 18 which was very uncomfortable, why it reached 18 as I only require pressure of 14-15 which is good
He said to keep the pressure as you are comfortable with, at least 14 - 15.
At pressure 15 my AHI was 1. my doctor said you should set the pressure according to your comfort at first it was set at max 20 and machine reached 18 but that was uncomfortable I could not sleep, now when I am setting max at 15 it's comfortable and my AHI for that day was 1 so what should I do. As 14 -15 is much comfortable than 18. should I experiment with my settings.
I am having a moderate sleep apnea and my doctor advised to keep the settings of cpap on 18 but that's too much for me I can't sleep 15 is comfortable, so what should be the right pressure for me as my machines ramp feature is off, so as I go to sleep within 10 min pressure goes up till 18 and its a bit uncomfortable because my mouth fills with air and exhaling is bit difficult to. what can I do now ?
