HI DAN, I do have a question; on the machine it says events per hour. Is that number supposed to come down with use??? Mine seams to fluctuate every night, but its usually pretty high. I finally have an appt. with a DR in November and was told by my cardiologist that I have to go to a specialist at the CLEVELAND CLINIC, my heart is still in A-FLUTTER, so the "mask" hasn't helped, YET??? Carol, after this experience, I am NOT a big fan of DOCTORS. AND it is amazing how so many people have this sleep problem. I tried to make an appt. with a specialist, I even went thru one of my Doctors to avoid the referral thing, now I have an appt. in the middle of November. It seams Dr.s must work in the summer around their 18 holes of golf???? Then cram 5 people for every appt. time. I hate having an appt. being on time; and sitting and waiting for over an hour. I guess they got you, and they know it.
HI DAN, I have a fat face and I snored for years, so I have to use a chin strap to keep my mouth shut. NOW, with a fat face the chin strap pushes everything forward, thus the mask doesn't fit properly. IF I would have known all these health problems would happen in THE GOLDEN YEARS, I would have gone a serious diet in my early 50's. BE WELL MY NEW FRIENDS
My machine is set on 17, lots of pressure, but I still occasionally open my mouth at night. Wake up with a bad case of the "DRIES" My apnea was diagnosed as severe, and in my study 17 was the right setting
DAN, I wear a chin strap now and it says on the bag the mask is made by PHILIPS RESPIRONICS and is an AMARA VIEW fit pack. It says it is minimal contact full face mask. When on, I still think I look like an "elephant with trunk" or have "pig nose"

I just call it a "pig nose" thats the way it looks when on. I have a round, full face with a small nose bridge and a full beard, thats why I had to crank the mask tight. I'm on blood thinners so any cut bleeds heavy, I would wake up with blood all over my face.This new mask has small holes in it right over where the air comes in, air goes out and a big rate, the provider said thats the way it works. Thats why I need a specialist to ask questions, the provider can just sell me anything and tell me its right
Squirrel, Do you feel better now???? Are you able to stay awake all day???? AND, do you feel refreshed and good when you wake up??? I have been on the "mask" for 4 months and am still waiting for my change. I'm dieing to feel refreshed in the AM. GOOD LUCK TO YOU, PICKLE
