Thank you. Yes I intend to do that. Further reading last night suggested to me that foam insulation may deteriorate and cause these toxic smells. I also need to get back in touch with the contact person at the supplying company who said she had no idea what it could be. I find that hard to believe with the information online.
Its the middle of the night and my resmed has awakened me with this chemical smell.
Ive had a resmed for 19 years, the first for 17 years and this one for 2 years. The first one gave me this chemical smell only toward the end. This one has had the smell only a few times until the last couple of weeks when it's nearly every night. Not anything I'm doing. Humidity down to one so the plate is cold. In the past I just needed to let it take a break and resume and it would be fine. Tonight that is not working. Headache between the eyes, sneezing and stuffed up. I called the supplier who said sometimes it degasses when new, but this isn't. She had no other suggestions. It doesn't matter if the reservoir is dry or not.
I'm discouraged reading that others have gotten no satisfaction. I can't afford a new machine, and I can't sleep without it. Will continue to pursue this with the supplier and my physician. Unfortunately it doesn't happen so consistently that I can demonstrate it
