So I’ve been on the cpap machine now for over a year. I really Haven’t had any good results from it. It actually raised my Bp when I started i was hoping it would come down put it has actually gone up even more. I’m only 37 and wondering if anyone has had a similar experience. Weird part is my apnea’s are controlled really well but I’m still exhausted everyday. My dr had me try modafinil but I had an allergic reaction to it so now we’re back to the drawing board

If you google positive air pressure therapy and blood pressure, virtually all scientific studies indicate that PAP therapy has a positive effect on high blood pressure and reduces it in most everyone. If you possibly have hypertension, perhaps it has gone up for reasons not related to PAP therapy and you should talk to your doctor about reducing your blood pressure issues medically. The modafinil drug is used to keep a person awake so I am not sure what the point is with that. There are a bunch of drugs out there that help control high blood pressure and you should likely do some research before letting the particular doc who prescribed modafinil prescribe some other drug. Perhaps seeing a different doctor might also help?
