Ok. I am using a Dreamstation Bipap. When I check my machine readout I get one readout for AHI- say 6.5. When I download tto the Dreammapper ap the AHI for the same day will be lower- say 5.0. When I download from the sd card to Sleepyhead software my AHI will show lower still- say 2.5. The machine readout vs Dreammapper can be one or the other the lower AHI. But the Sleepyhead of of the card will always be the lowest. Anyone else notice this and which one is right.

On the ResMed AirSense 10 I get basically the same numbers in SleepyHead as I do on the machine except that the machine truncates the number. For example my machine showed me 1.9 for AHI this morning. However when I go into SleepyHead I see the number as 1.95. But those differences are trivial compared to yours. In general SleepyHead does not calculate numbers. It just presents what the machine stores on the data card.

Ok. This morning my machine showed 7.60 for last night. Sleepyhead showed 2.56. That's the kind of differences I'm talking about. I'm not real concerned about it. I used my machine for a year before I even set my machine to show the AHI. I guess ignorance was bliss.

If you are using SleepyHead you should be able to make a manual check. In the Daily tab, and then Events sub tab there should be a listing of events for the night. Add up the Clear Airway, Hypopnea, and Obstructive events to get a total events. Under the Details tab there will be an hours slept (or more accurately machine on time). Divide the total events by the hours to get a manual calculation of AHI.
