So I have a So Clean to clean my mask and machine, but my therapist said that I need to hand wash the nasal cushion with soap every day that the So Clean won't get it clean?

Questions:

  1. Is that correct?
  2. If I remove the nasal cushion and put the rest of my mask in the machine, will the airflow correctly? Or does that break the circuit of air by having the opening?
  3. Can you wash and put it back together with slight residual dampness and then put the entire mask in the machine to clean?

Thanks

I don't think any of the CPAP manufacturers recommend the use of SoClean. The therapist is probably just telling you what the manufacturer recommends.

SoClean and similar units do not actually clean your equipment - they only sanitize.

You will still need to physically wash with mild soap to remove the oils and dirt from the surface of your mask and cushion.
