I have been using my cpap machine since Oct 2016 and had started feeling so much better and then I moved in with my fiance in Dec and I am using my machine every night but I am feeling drained and tired and am having problems with it every night. When I lived alone after the initial adjustment to it I slept all night and it was comfortable and had no problems. But now I wake up dead tired and i wake up with it hurting my face and with headaches 3 or 4 days a week. I just don't understand what or why moving to a new place would make a difference. also I have had a lot of problems with waking up with an extremely dry mouth. something that had not happened since my early days of the initial adjustment.

Hi Sparkles. There are many things that can contribute to feeling drained and tired after a move. Are you sleeping in a different bed vs. moving your bed with you? How different is the environment in your fiancé's home? Is the air more dry? Is there more noise or other things that might be disturbing your sleep in the space? Could there be underlying environmental factors or allergens you are now being exposed to more regularly? These are all things to consider. If you don't start to feel better soon, I encourage you to talk to your doctor about the changes and consider talking to your home care company to make sure your equipment is functioning properly. Best wishes, and please keep us posted!

Hi Dan.... It is a different bed..a sleep number bed and i have now found a number that works for me. I have thought about many of the things that you mentioned and the air seems about the same as in my old apartment. I don't normally have allergys that I know of or have any problems with and even wondered if part of the problem was not being use to sleeping with anyone but he has had a couple of out of town work trips and I have not noticed any difference with my sleep or the way I feel. I got my machine thru the VA and they are hard to get back in with but i will try to see what I can find out there.j
thanks for you input and help Dan. Have a great day

Dry mouth is a key to understand what is going on (perhaps)! Do you monitor your therapy via software? A Resmed machine sends info to Resmed and in turn they allow you to log in and see your AHI rate and leak rate and length of sleep, etc. If your mask is leaking, then you tend to not only have higher AHI which leads to poor quality and less sleep but also to DRY MOUTH. If you don't have a Resmed machine, get some "sleepyhead" software so you can monitor what is going on. You install on your computer and tranfser the data from your CPAP machine's SD card. Good luck!
