I am at the 1 month Mark when my BiPAP. I was over 90 events an hr for my sleep study. The first couple of weeks using my BiPAP my events per hr were as high 11 and as low as 3. Now I’ve had 15 straight days of below 5, even getting a 0.3 once! I’m so happy not being a walking zombie anymore. I can actually do things after work now instead of needing to go home and sleep for 10-11 hrs a day just to cope. I just wanted to share with some people that can understand what I was going thru before and how much better it is now.

That is good to hear. Perhaps you can keep checking in now and then to help other BiPap users... I know how they work, but no personal experience.

To be honest I haven’t had to adjust anything on my machine other than I changed my air temperature from auto to 77 because it was getting down to 71 and room temperature was too cold for me. But if I can help I’ll sure try.

Nope. This is the only machine I’ve ever used. My pressure is set to min 15 max 21. One think I changed is the ramp. I have it off so I go to full power immediately. Once I got used to the pressure I discovered I prefer to breath with it. The nasal air pillows expand my nostrils like a breath right strip and I breath easier thru my nose with it. Once I switched the ramp off is when my apnea’s per hour started going below 5 per hr. Also, if you sleep on your side and sometimes have mouth leak try sleeping with a body pillow and have it against your chin. It helped me to lesson my air leaks from opening my mouth.

Sometimes when they set the machine up they set it to have a ramp, but leave the ramp start pressure at minimum which is 4 cm. That can be very uncomfortable and almost suffocating. There is another setting called ramp start pressure that lets you set the start pressure of the ramp at anything up to your minimum pressure.
