ResMed AirSense 10 AutoSet not writing to SD card

I have had my ResMed AirSense 10 AutoSet since April 2018. I usually just looked at my data on the MyAir app and my sleep dr got reports via the one year subscription that comes with it. My subscription is now over so he wanted me to start bringing my SD card to appointments. The last time I brought it he said there was no data on it. I didn't think much of it, but it did get me thinking about looking at the detailed data myself with programs such as Sleepyhead and Oscar. Today I put my SD card in my laptop and, lo and behold, it appears that there is no data on it. Is there a reason or a setting I've not turned on to tell the apap to write data to the SD card?

*Acer Aspire laptop with built in card reader running latest update of Windows 10.
*SD card is the branded blue ResMed SDHC card that came in the machine.
*SD card read/write switch was set to unlocked while in machine for the last 16 months (locked before inserting into laptop).
*Essentials setting is/has always been set to "Plus".

*Once inserted into laptop, no drive appeared in "Devices and drives" menu in the "This PC" window.
*Tried updating SD card reader device driver but was told I have the latest drivers.

Anyone have any suggestions as to why there is no data written to the card? Think maybe it's just a bunk card?

That is odd. When you insert the SD card into the machine do you get a message that flashes up to say something like "Please Wait... SD card is being prepared for use, don't remove card or power off the machine". My A10 does that every time I put the card in. I believe if I put the card in with it locked I get an error message. My wife has the S9 and she put the card in locked, and the machine would not even run.

If you don't get that message it would suggest that the machine is not seeing a card at all for some reason. Defective card? Does you laptop read other SD cards that have photos or other files on them? Seems to me that it could be the card, the laptop card reader, or possibly even the A10 card reader/writer. If you have another SD card with nothing on it try inserting it in the A10 to see if it accepts it. The A10 comes with a 4 Gb card, but I believe it will accept up to a 32 Gb card.

Some machine providers take the factory supplied ResMed marked card out before they issue it to the customer. Perhaps the provider instead put a card in that has been formatted so it cannot be read by the machine. Just guessing. More likely a defective card.

I appreciate your reply to my question and to all the great information you have previously posted in this forum. I spent time reading many of your posts before I put up my question. You are not only extremely knowledgeable, but also extremely helpful. Thanks so much.

I do, in fact, get the on screen message that you mentioned when inserting the SD card into the ResMed machine. The card, by all appearances, seems to be the genuine ResMed card. I found your post regarding DME providers removing the SD cards to be a great read.

I have not ever had trouble with my laptop's card reader. I don't have another SD card to test with at the moment, but maybe I'll order one from Amazon so I can start testing diagnoses. I concur with you that it's likely either a defective SD card or possibly the A10 card reader/writer.

Since the machine gives you the message, it would seem that it recognizes the card and that the card is in the right format. This seems to point the finger to your laptop card reader.
