I am getting quite desperate - and the sleep clinic here can’t tell me anything new. I have bought a new Airfit 10 Full Face Mask which is very comfortable and I have a Resmed S9 Elite machine. MY diagnoses 3 years ago was 27 AHI and it was recommended I start with a pressure of 18. After a short while I Lost a lot of weight (15 kg ) and managed to bring the pressure down to 12. All went well until I had a stroke 6 months ago and I stopped using my machine - too many other things to concentrate on. I restarted two weeks ago at a pressure of 12. This wasn’t helping with my old mask so have moved it to 8 with my new mask now, and my AHIs are extremely high. Should I continue on this course or should I bring it back to 12 and set it up from there?

You really need to see what the machine is doing by using OSCAR or SleepyHead, or take your SD card to your sleep clinic to have them look at the data on it.

I already have and they can’t give me any advice, so I’m going to put the pressure back to 12 and see if there’s any improvement

The question you have to ask them is to breakdown the types of apnea events you are having. For example how many CA events are you having relative to OA events. If you mainly have CA events, then a lower pressure may help. If mainly OA events then a higher pressure may help.
