I have been using my Res Med CPAP for 2 1/2 years and can't stay asleep for a whole night except for once in a blue moon. My doctor tells me my apnea is controlled while I use the machine, but it doesn't seem to make a difference. Sometimes I can fall back to sleep and sometimes I wake up and can't get back to sleep for a couple of hours. I am so frustrated. I would appreciate some advice.

What model of ResMed machine do you have. Depending on the model you can download a software program called OSCAR to view detailed data on what is happening during the night. You need a PC or Mac and a SD card reader.
A CPAP is not always a silver bullet to cure insomnia. I have found the tips at this site below helpful in getting a reliable sleep.
I went from Melatonin 10 MG to a trilayer natural aid from Puritans pride, to almonds, which have more melatonin than melatonin itself? Back to melatonin but at a much lower dose. I buy dissolvable 10 mg dose, and split it in quarters. I started with half of a quarter, then worked up to a quarter. Tonight I'm going to try a quarter and half of a quarter. You might have to experiment wit Melatonin. I generally go to bed at 10 and wake up after 5 hours like clock work with a quarter of a pill, but fall back asleep within a half an hour, and stay asleep till 5:30 am. Try sleeping on your side as much as possible. Also I drink a cup of chamomile tea, along with a light snack before bed. I also wear a blinder mask to keep it dark.
