I use a ResMed Air 10 (mask is a Swift Fit Nano For Her)...Each night when I initially put my mask on
(it is set for automatic which begins low and increases pressure as time wears on)
I notice tiny wisps of air escaping through my lips (mouth is closed). I finally gave up and put on a chin guard and that did nothing to improve it. It still had tiny wisps of air escaping.
I finally gave up and put on a chin guard I found in my drawer sometime ago (they sent it to me
initially). I did not use it figuring that I would learning quickly from MyAir if I was a mouth breather
My reports overall have been high 90s (mostly due to hours) and night before last 100 so I am not
a mouth breather.
Are these tiny wisps of air normal?
When I went in for my sleep study, my respiratory therapist suggested i push my tongue up against the back of my top front teeth and roof of my mouth to help keep my mouth shut while sleeping. It works amazingly and if I start to wisp air it wakes me up and I just reset.
Maybe you could try it?
My events per hour are really low, but the problem is I get woken up throughout the night by the noises of the air escaping and sometimes I cannot get back to sleep with the mask on so I end up removing it, sleeping for 2 hours without and waking up feeling tired
