So I’ve been using the cpap for months now and it has never made me feel better. I feel Wayyyyy more tired using it than not using. I’ve had a sleep study done with it and my dr adjusted my pressures and still no change. My dr says all my numbers look really good and my apnea is controlled really well. But I’m still exhausted everyday. Anyone else experiencing this.

Do you monitor your own sleep results? AHI? Mask Leaks? Mask on/off? If not, time to do so as perhaps you can tweek things for better results. I do recall some folks work harder while breathing and this could contribute to tiredness. How many times are you getting up or waking during the night while on therapy?

Sledhead--I, too, have struggled with this issue. Here's what I have been told by two physicians about this. There are three categories of patients on cpap--those who feel fantastic the very first day with the machine, some who feel better within a few weeks or months, and then others who may take even longer to overcome the residual affects of previously untreated sleep apnea. My thought is twofold: one--keep doing what you are doing and give it some time, and two--check with your general physician to see if some bloodwork can be done to rule out other sources of fatigue. Good luck to you!
