Hello all. I'm new to CPAp, having only begun last week. I have a fisher and P sleep style and also have access to a res med air sense ten auto set. The Fisher has heated humidifier and heated tubing but I find it does not have enough humidity. The air sense has more humidity but no heatined tubing. If I don't have enough humidity, my Tonge sticks to the roof of my mouth and I cannot breathe, thus causing an apnea event. I don't nose breathe due to my bone disorder and I've also had a tongue reduction somy tongue is a little fatter than normal. The other night I used the res med and got rain out but a very good sleep with apnea scores of 4.5 per hour. last night I turned the humidity down one notch to avoid the rain out and I had 14 apneas per hour and a terribly dry mouth. Does anyone know if the fisher cold have the heated tubing temperature decreased as I find it too to and suffocating. I'm only using fisher and p because I'm blind and the res med isn't accessible enough though I am not opposed to changing. thanks for listing to my rambling.
The ResMed accepts a heated hose that costs about $35. With the heated hose attached, it offers an auto humidity control mode that I use and find it works very well. There are also hose "cozy" sleeves sold which are said to prevent rainout. I have not tried them and I think the heated hose using the auto mode is the best way.
The ResMed can be set up to start automatically and stop automatically to minimize the need to turn the machine on and off.

Thanks, that is a big help, especially if it uses auto mode with the heated hose. I think my air way is so sensitive to any changes because I've used this Tracheotomy tube for sleep apnea since I was 11 so breathing through my mouth every night is *extremely hard.
