I use a nasal pillow and have been having a problem with the air being to cold when I wake up. It’s fine while falling asleep. But when I wake up it feels cold. I was using auto temperature and auto humidity. I have the air temperature up to 81 now and humidity at 6. I do have heated tubing. Anyone have an idea how to solve this?

I believe you have a ResMed AirCurve machine? If it works the same as the ResMed AirSense 10 Auto, the auto humidity gets shut off if you set a specific humidity level. You either set it to auto or to manual and a specific humidity. Have a look at page 8 and 15 in the manual at the link below.

AirCurve VAuto

How do you route your hose from the machine to the mask? I keep my hose under the covers and set my temperature at 27 C which is the same as the 81 F. The other possibility is that the element in the heated hose is burned out.

That is the machine I use. I have a stand from amazon that goes under the top cushion to hold the hose above my head.

I checked my AirSense machine when I went to bed last night. On the user menu there is a choice between auto and manual humidity. You only get a choice of humidity level when it is in manual. The humidity level choice shows up below the temperature setting when you put it in manual. You may want to try true auto climate control to see if that helps.

Hi KennyAZ

Sierra will know what to do with the settings but sometimes other issues can be involved.

A few years back I spend time in a caravan that we had stripped out ready to insulate and reline. It was freezing outside and there was only a thin layer of metal sheeting between us and the cold.

I found that the humidifier and climate control functioned better if I turned the CPAP machine so that it was not sucking in the cold air sliding down the outside wall.

This also ties into my thread about possibly trying other masks. I just got 2 replacement pillows for my p10 and I haven’t slept with it yet, but I did try it and it is much more comfortable than my old one. The air temperature was also noticeably warmer to me. I compared them and noticed the new pillow is much firmer than my older one. I know some of you have used yours much longer than I have used this one, which was also my first one. But on my first short test I notice a big difference. I’m wondering if it’s because my air pressure is in the higher range, 15-21? Either way, I’ll report back tomorrow.

I think the main issue with higher pressure is leaks. I think you are doing well to get a P10 to seal at 21 cm.
