Soak it to clean it? I clean mine weekly with warm water and baby shampoo. Don't see how soaking would hurt it. I clean the nasal pillow daily, everything else weekly, and find everything but the nasal pillow lasts far longer than expected. Based on the replacement schedule my insurance covers, I have backups for everything, and have had to say stop. I mean, how many humidifiers do you need hanging around?

No...this is not a good idea. Only regular hose can be soaked. You may find the regular hose needs a little extra cleaning and there are special CPAP hose brushes for that which do a wonderful job when a little biodegradable unscented dishsoap is added to the warm water. I'm not sure how much benefit you would get from just soaking a hose because they float on top of the water.
I was told not to soak the part of the resmed heated hose that plugs into the machine, but the rest is good to soak. If a little water gets on the plug part, I just dry it quickly with a tissue.
