I couldn't find any recent posts on using cannabis to treat sleep apnea. Has anyone used a cannabis product to help with their sleeping and if so, what did they find worked best? I am most interested in those located in the Province of Ontario. Did you need a medical cannabis license to obtain the product or could you obtain it from the provincial website? Thanks for the feedback.

Hi jimho56

I'm not sure how it would interact with apnea

I imagine it would be useful for those who struggle to face the gear to start with.

I am in Australia and certainly wish it were easily accessible here for medical purposes.

The American Academy of Sleep Medicine is on the record as being against the use of medical marijuana or derivatives to treat sleep apnea.

In general medications that relax the muscles tend to make obstructive sleep apnea worse. Sedatives and in particular opioids are a significant cause of central sleep apnea.

Also, marijuana is legal in Canada now, so there is no need for a prescription. You can just buy it and try it. If you are trying to get a doctor to say it will help with apnea, that may be more difficult.
