I couldn't find any recent posts on using cannabis to treat sleep apnea. Has anyone used a cannabis product to help with their sleeping and if so, what did they find worked best? I am most interested in those located in the Province of Ontario. Did you need a medical cannabis license to obtain the product or could you obtain it from the provincial website? Thanks for the feedback.
In general medications that relax the muscles tend to make obstructive sleep apnea worse. Sedatives and in particular opioids are a significant cause of central sleep apnea.
Also, marijuana is legal in Canada now, so there is no need for a prescription. You can just buy it and try it. If you are trying to get a doctor to say it will help with apnea, that may be more difficult.

It's still illegal here although the powers that be, who are based in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) saw fit to legalize it in just one state.
No prizes for guessing where.
I think that eventually, they will extend that freedom elsewhere although I wonder about the effect on road users.
I've never used recreational drugs and am wary of things they could trigger but, in all likelihood, cannabis would help me sleep, and any relaxation should be compensated for by the CPAP
While I haven't experimented with cannabis for sleep apnea myself, I've heard from friends who found relief with certain strains, particularly Indica-dominant ones. They mentioned that these strains helped them relax and improve their sleep quality. In Ontario, obtaining cannabis usually requires a medical license, either from dispensaries or online sources. However, navigating the process can vary, so it's wise to consult with a healthcare provider for guidance. Exploring posts about Indica effects might provide further insights.
