In honor of National Pet Day, I wanted to share something that my dog did for me a few days ago. My dog (Basenji/Jack Russell Mix) has learned my evening Cpap routine. He stays by my side and cuddles until I grab my Resmed Airfit F20. Thats when he knows he needs to head under the blanket and give dad his space to put the mask on, power the Airsense 10, and shut my engines down for the night. In the mornings he doesn’t get near me until he hears the velcro from my undoing the mask. This has been our routine for the past year.

Two days ago I fell asleep with my mask in my hand and not on my face. My buddy must have heard me gasping for air because I woke up to him pawing at my face. Our eyes connected and he was telling me I had forgotten something. Without breaking my own gaze I put my mask on and under the blanket he went.

For anyone acclimating to Cpap therapy, hang in there! For any pet owners out there: Be good to your fur babies! You have their support as well!

Thank you all! Yeah my little guy is actually quite mischievous and suffers from selective hearing LOL. However, he reminded me of how in-tune our pets can be with our own habits and daily routines. He earned a treat that night!
