My sore Nose

I've been an active CPAP user for 12 years. Usually my nose gets sore when it is time to change the pillows. I've recently changed it and it got worse. The outside of my nose has a scab as does the inside of one nostril. I've tried tightening the head gear and loosening it up which makes it worse since both things seem to make it rub. What could be causing this now after years of use?

I have no idea what’s causing your problem. Maybe switch (at least for awhile) to a full face mask?

I use an Amara View which is considered a full face mask but its upper part fits up to the bottom of your nose and there is nothing covering your nose otherwise and the lower part of the mask is just below your lower lip. I find this mask pretty comfortable. Only thing I am not keep for is the rear part of the head gear and had my wife make a small 4" pad to cover it else it kind of chaffs my neck.

You may need to consider as different mask, as the other posters suggest. You could try a standard nasal mask, such as the Eson 2, which is still pretty small but won't hurt your nostrils. Or you could look at the DreamWear Under nose mask, which has the same sore of minimal contact configuration as an intranasal mask, but sits under your nose rather than sealing against your nostrils. Google a picture and it'll make more sense.
