Frodo-Resmed Airsense 10 is WiFi connected. As soon as you get it you can connect to My Air on your computer and it will give your last nightly values and it keeps each night just for you. Also, it is WiFi connected to your provider for extensive values. It also has a card reader in the machine, just in case you don't have WiFi in your home but you would have to take it to a health provider and have them read it for you. I call my provider and they can read my results from their office and let me know what MyAir doesn't go into extensive apnea results. Hope that makes sense. It comes with a humidity drawer and you can fill it with distilled water. I love it. If you don't, you can take it off.
Honestblue-Headband around the mouth works for me. Made mine from surgical stretch wrap that is 2 inches or less wide. Sewed a piece to form a headband and pulled it down to cover my mouth. Then over liped my top lip a very little bit over my bottom lip underneath the band I used to use paper tape and a CPAP headband that fits under the jaw still wasn't the ticket. Paper tape did work but left me with sticky lips in the am. I used paper tape for a long time. I wish I could thank the woman that invented making her own band. I saw the picture on internet but I now can't find her. BUT, i use a Res Med nasal mask. I hate the full face mask and am returning it. Nasal mask gives me so much more freedom and I can shift from side to side without leaks.
Fearless-And I have always been a somewhat light sleeper before. Remember, though, at the beginning, I only had a mild to moderate apnea.
My husband that has near your pressures, sleeps like a log all night long and on his back. His apnea was off the charts at the beginning. He does not have a Res Med Sense 10.
Perhaps because you don't know when you remove your mask, you could be one of those unconscious deep sleepers. I still think that somehow that mask bothers you for some reason during perhaps REM sleep and you toss it away because it does bother you. Perhaps the pressure of air blows you silly and that would be the time your mask might leak or you feel you are in a hurricane.
Fearless- I didn't know the ResMed AirSense 10 went to those high levels but maybe I could be wrong. Your results are good but there is a reason you are pulling your mask off. If it is blasts of air and total leaks, that is wrong. i can't imagine at your level just why it wouldn't throw the mask across the room by itself. This machine is set to know when you are awake or sleeping. My machine must have been stupid. I had to turn the Ramp from Auto and set it for a 15. Quite illegal because I did it myself, but it worked. You should explain this to your tech or sleep Dr. that set up your prescription by phone. They can change your setting using WiFi.
As far as your insurance that has only a 6-month replacement of masks, I think you get to try a new one out for up to 30 days and you then can replace it Don't know why all of this can't be done by mail at your medical supply location.
I feel for your migraines. I had the worse and with the longest duration for over 15 years. Now they are gone since I turned older. 15 years ago, you couldn't get much help for them except pain meds. These times have changed.
Keep in them ! Today we are just a number.

It might be helpful if you stated the name of your machine and also your mask. Don't know how long you have been on therapy or how many masks you've tried.
Yes, it would be helpful if you contacted you Medical Supply Tech.
Just saying!
My CPAP technician works for the med supply place. She has been able to change my machine settings with the approval of a sleep doctor, which I have never seen, and onto my MD for the prescription write up.
She probably has extensive training because the other med supply gals don't know as much and their tech rotates her office and hours. She is extremely hard to get ahold of. Maybe everyone is on her for answers.
I've had my machine for almost two years now and have changed masks 3x. only by visiting the med supply place and requesting another one. I now own the machine. I can sell it or toss it.
I have studied extensively tech subjects on this certain machine. I now changed my setting myself. It's perfect now and I am down to AHI 0.9. I will go to the med. supply and have them print out my test results and have them give it to the tech to see if I am on the mark. As usual, she probably won't even answer me. I know she is by prescription only but she did once long ago. Hmmm? The med supply girls can also read print outs of my readings.
I know I should have, by law, keep trying to aggravate the tech gal to get my prescription changed but she has had several chances.

Sidesleeper. Mine was set to 5-20 and the tech reduced it to 5-15 as I have never used more pressure than 9.8 on any night. My CPAP , Res Med Air Sense 10, ramps up the pressure during Rem sleep and the high volume of air wakes me. My CPAP is supposed to reduce that air when it knows I am awake. Well, it was on Auto and still doesn't know I am awake so I tweaked that in the setting. I will find out what a mess I made of it tonight. I know how to set it back to the original settings if I messed up by my tweaking.
Daniel- Plain hard to get ahold of that tech let alone while I am sleeping. I am sure she goes home after her day is done but never answers my calls to her cell phone.
wiredgeorge- I learned how to get into the tech. settings on my CPAP. That's where I got these readings. It was easy. Internet tells you almost anything. I am soooo illegal.
That's all I will request of the tech is that she says my numbers look good now that I tweaked the settings myself. So let them put me in jail. I will have to take my CPAP with me. Thanks to you knowing most of the number, I feel better. I certainly have read everything I could get ahold of on internet about these values. Tonight will be the real test. Instead of taping my mouth with my usual paper tape, I have made a head band type band to go around my mouth. I made it out of stretch surgical tan tape. I saw a picture of what some woman made and it worked for her. Somehow I lost that picture on internet and I will have no way to thank her now. A chin strap just doesn't do it for me. I can still puff a little air outside my lips let alone a hurricane.
Thanks again, Barb
